We test everything we make
For example, we drop our Easy Lock expandable batons from two metres onto concrete. That's a tougher test than the German MPA Hannover standard, which calls for a drop onto wood. We also cycle the locking mechanism six thousand times before we consider a design finished. These are controlled tests, carried out in a lab, and they tell us something important: whether the equipment can withstand what we expect it to face.
What happens ten years from now? Will the company that made the equipment still be there? Will it still support the product? Will the same design still be produced to the same standard after suppliers, machinery and employees have changed?
There is no laboratory test for that. The only way to find out is to wait.
What a Lab Test Can't Tell You
A laboratory can tell you a great deal about a particular piece of equipment. It can show how one unit performs under controlled conditions on a particular day.
What it cannot show is how that same product will perform five, ten or twenty years later.
It cannot tell you whether a manufacturer will keep the same standards when production volumes change. It cannot tell you whether the people responsible for the original design will still be there. And it certainly cannot tell you whether someone will answer the phone when a customer has a problem a decade after the original purchase.
Those things are measured differently. They are measured by continuity.
When we talk about proven reliability for professional units worldwide, that's what we mean. Reliability isn't something that is established once by putting a product through a test and filing away the result. It is built over years of production and use, with professional customers continuing to choose the same equipment.
The Test That's Already Running

Euro Security Products was founded in Prague in 1992. More than thirty years later, we are still here, still operating under the same name and still making equipment for the same professional market.
Our products are currently in service with security forces in more than 103 countries. That includes the Metropolitan Police in London, law enforcement units throughout the Czech Republic, and professional users in countries including France, Spain, Poland, Thailand, Indonesia, Egypt, Venezuela, Mexico, Georgia and Latvia.
There is something important about that kind of customer base
Professional organisations have little patience for equipment that doesn't perform. They have procurement departments, testing procedures and people whose job it is to identify problems. If a product consistently failed, it wouldn't remain in service simply because the manufacturer said it was reliable. It would be replaced.
The fact that these customers continue to use our equipment matters more to us than any statement we could make about our own products.
What This Actually Looks Like
Long-term reliability isn't created by a single successful test. It comes from thousands of decisions made over many years.
It's choosing not to change a proven design simply because another version might be cheaper to produce. It's maintaining standards when nobody outside the company would notice a shortcut. And it's accepting that sometimes the more expensive way of doing something is the right way if it produces equipment that will still be doing its job years later.
Price and reliability are not always connected in the way people assume. A product can be inexpensive because it is efficiently designed and manufactured. It can also be inexpensive because something has been compromised along the way.
Time eventually exposes the difference
More than thirty years after we started, our equipment is still being used by professional units in more than a hundred countries. That's the test we value most.
Not what happened during one afternoon in a laboratory, but what happened over three decades in the real world.
And if you want to see where our equipment is in service, the countries and the history are there to be checked. We don't expect customers to take it on faith.
